Professional truck drivers and other workers in the transportation industry have always performed indispensable jobs, but many have gone above and beyond the call of duty during the coronavirus pandemic. That popularity helped Barrows become a primary cheerleader for a Facebook photography project that earned $30,000 in donations for the local food pantry.

Truck driver Kevin Cooper and his wife, Kimberly, took matters into their own hands and began making protective face masks and giving them to people for free at the beginning of the pandemic.



Peter Lacoste, NFI Transportation: Cleanliness Became a Crusade

Peter Lacoste is a driver-trainer for NFI Transportation who works with recruits, coordinating operations within the yard, communicating with drivers and ensuring deliveries stay on track. But when the COVID-19 outbreak took hold, Lacoste took on a new responsibility — sanitizing the company’s trucks to help keep his colleagues safe.
