Service Firms Grew at Slower Pace in December

WASHINGTON — U.S. service firms grew in December at the slowest pace in five months, a possible indication that various headwinds from turbulent markets to trade tensions could be having an impact on economic activity.

Namaste Extends Stake in Cannabis Provider Pineapple Express

Cannabis e-commerce company Namaste Technologies has announced its entrance into a share purchase agreement of an additional 34% equity stake in Pineapple Express Delivery, a same-day cannabis delivery provider in Canada, according to a Dec. 17 press release. Namaste previously acquired shares from Pineapple Express in June 2018, and it now owns 49% of the latter company’s outstanding common shares.



Hines Corp. Sells Crane Carrier, Kimble Mixer to Investment Firm

Hines Corp. has spun off its Specialty Vehicle Group, which consists of Crane Carrier Co., a maker of vocational truck chassis, and Kimble Mixer Co., a manufacturer of concrete pumping equipment used in construction, agriculture and oil and gas exploration. The business was acquired by Turnspire Capital Partners, a New York-based investment firm, and a group of company managers, according to a Jan. 2 press release.



Saia Names Frederick Holzgrefe III President, COO

Saia Inc., a multiregional LTL, nonasset truckload, expedited and logistics services provider, announced it has named Frederick J. Holzgrefe III as its new president and chief operating officer effectively immediately, according to a Jan. 4 press release. Additionally, he has joined the board of directors.
